Swanson’s Lake bird refuge area tours.
Spring time as well as fall are great times in which to view the many species of birds and among them some very rare birds (April/May for Spring) (September/October for fall). Best to bring a good pair of binoculars and a bird I.D. book with you. Early morning, late afternoon, and early evening are great times in viewing the many species of birds.
Springtime is very nice for viewing beautiful wildflowers, (April to early June is best) as visitors will enjoy a changing cast of species and their colors. For groups that come for the viewings, it is quite possible to have someone available from the Spokane Audubon Society to assist in guiding the visitors viewing and identification of the rare species. There are
walking trails available and maps can be downloaded online.
Tour time 4.5-5.0 hours.
